Rhizosphaera Needle Cast is a fungal disease commonly seen on Colorado Blue Spruce trees. Infection takes place during wet springs (as during 2010) although Symptoms, which begin as small black spots on the underside of the foliage first appear the following spring. Needles will become discolored and ‘cast’ of the tree in late summer. This disease infects lower branches first and slowly moves up the tree.

If you feel your Spruce trees may be infected with RNC please contact a certified arborist for a free inspection and consultation.
